The self-sustaining loop

Cursed Eggs are produced by the 404 Chick and are the heart of the Cursed chain. Even though they are marked as very rare in egg terms, the important part is the producer: a 404 Chick lays them reliably, which is what makes the loop sustainable.

Each Cursed Egg has a very low chance to hatch another 404 Chick, so the strategy is to let your 404 produce eggs, hatch batches, and let the chain grow by itself.

Why this chain is powerful

Once the Cursed chain is running, you stop depending on outside egg sources. The 404 Chick is the engine, Cursed Eggs are the fuel, and the surplus feeds into Cursed-line fusions like the Cycle of Ash.

That independence is why players treat the Cursed chain as an economy powerhouse rather than just a rare hatch line.

How to run the loop

  1. Land the first 404 Chick from a Blazing or Cursed Egg (low chance, batch hatch).
  2. Let it lay Cursed Eggs.
  3. Hatch those Cursed Eggs to try for more 404s.
  4. Keep at least one 404 always laying.
  5. Feed surplus into Cursed fusion recipes once you have spares.

The trap to avoid

Never sell your last 404 Chick. Once you do, the Cursed Egg supply stops and you have to hunt a Secret-rarity hatch again from scratch. Keep at least one producer alive at all times.

Cursed Eggs meet fusion demand

Once named fusions enter the picture, Cursed Eggs gain a second purpose: the chains they hatch feed recipes like Cycle of Ash that consume 404 Chicks. That creates real tension between keeping the loop running and spending units on fusions.

The resolution is sequencing, not choice: grow the chain to at least two spare 404 Chicks before any fusion spending. From that point you can fund fusions from surplus instead of from the engine itself.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get my first Cursed Egg?

The chain usually starts with a 404 Chick hatch from a Blazing or Cursed Egg, then that chick lays more Cursed Eggs.

Can the Cursed chain sustain itself?

Yes, if the 404 Chick drop rate holds - it lays Cursed Eggs reliably and those can hatch more 404s.

What should I do with extra Cursed Eggs?

Hatch them for more 404s first, then use surplus in Cursed-line fusions.

When is it safe to spend 404 Chicks on fusion?

Only after you hold at least two, so one keeps laying while the other is fused. Never fuse the last producer.
