Grow a Chicken Fighter Update 3 Guide: Trick Egg & Charms

Update 3 adds Battle Charms, Chicken Promotions, Charm Dust, the Trick Egg with five new chickens (including Secret Ace Rooster), Mascot Rooster and Auto Rebirth. Here is the order that avoids wasting resources.

What is in Update 3

Update 3 in Grow a Chicken Fighter (August 29, 2026) is a systems patch: Battle Charms, Chicken Promotions, Charm Dust, the Trick Egg with five new chickens (Domino Chick, Checkmate Hen, Puzzle Hen, High Roller Rooster and Secret Ace Rooster), Mascot Rooster via weekly shop rewards, an Auto Rebirth Game Pass and a limited Chicken Upgrader Pack.

Compared with Update 2, this one is less about new eggs to grind and more about investing in chickens you already own - so read the order below before spending Charm Dust or Promotion resources.

Join a fresh server first

  1. Leave your current server and join a new one - older servers may still run the pre-Update 3 build.
  2. Confirm the Trick Egg, Charms and new shop rewards are visible before planning your session.
  3. Favorite your best chickens (Reaper Rooster, 404 Chick, Eclipse Hen, Storm Colossus and key egg producers) - Update 3 adds protection for favorited units.

Trick Egg route: Catalyst Hen first

The Trick Egg hatches five chickens: Domino Chick (Rare), Checkmate Hen (Epic), Puzzle Hen (Legendary), High Roller Rooster (Cosmic) and Ace Rooster (Secret, under 1%). You cannot buy it early - the route starts with the Catalyst Hen.

Catalyst Hen is a Secret pull from the Colossus Egg (under 1%). Once you have it, it lays an egg every 10 minutes with a 98% Colossus Egg / 2% Trick Egg split. After your first Trick Egg, use the new chicken to farm more - even a Rare Domino Chick lays Trick Eggs at about 10%.

  1. Stockpile Colossus Eggs and hatch until Catalyst Hen lands.
  2. Keep Catalyst Hen laying and collect every egg - expect several 10-minute cycles per Trick Egg.
  3. Hatch your first Trick Egg and keep the chicken - do not sell or fuse it yet.
  4. Put a Trick Egg chicken back in the Coop to farm more Trick Eggs.
  5. Keep hatching until you land the chickens you want, Ace Rooster being the long-term chase.

Battle Charms and Charm Dust

Battle Charms are the biggest power-system change in Update 3. They attach to chickens for extra bonuses - offensive effects for damage carries, defensive or utility effects for weaker or slower units. Charms consume Charm Dust.

Charm Dust comes from the shop, including a free daily reward - claim it every day even if you do not plan to spend it yet. The best Charm combinations are still being discovered, so save some Dust instead of spending it all on day one.

  1. Claim the free daily Charm Dust from the shop.
  2. Pick one main carry chicken for your first Charm.
  3. Match the Charm effect to the role (damage, defense, utility) rather than rarity.
  4. Test the Charm in Tower before taking it into Arena.
  5. Keep a Charm Dust reserve for when the meta settles.

Chicken Promotions

Promotions let you invest in chickens you already use instead of replacing them every patch. Good Promotion targets have strong genetics, a good mutation, a powerful Special and proven Arena or Tower performance.

Always check the Promotion preview before confirming - and do not spend Promotion resources on a temporary chicken just because it is currently your highest level.

  1. Choose a long-term carry, not a flavour-of-the-week unit.
  2. Open the Promotion preview and read exactly what changes.
  3. Combine Promotions with a Battle Charm on the same carry for the biggest single-unit power spike.
  4. Upgrade your second and third chickens only after the main carry is settled.

Mascot Rooster, Auto Rebirth and shop packs

Mascot Rooster comes from the weekly shop rewards - check the requirements early in the week instead of rushing the final day. Keep your first copy even if it is not main-team material; it may matter for collection, Fusion or future progression.

Auto Rebirth is a Game Pass that automates the rebirth loop. It is a time-saver for established accounts, but beginners should learn the normal rebirth flow first and check what gets reset before enabling it. The limited Chicken Upgrader Pack is optional - compare its rewards with normal gameplay before spending Robux.

Update 3 codes status

No new Update 3 code has been confirmed as of August 30, 2026. The latest confirmed codes are still 40KCCU, ASCEND and 50MVISITS.

Avoid random codes from comments or unofficial posts that promise free Secret chickens - if a new code drops, it will come from the official Discord or in-game announcements first.

Ace Rooster - a Secret chicken with under a 1% chance per Trick Egg hatch.
